We are seeking an Applications Developer to:

  • Serve on our ITSM Agile Development Team. 
  • Work with user groups throughout the UW Health Enterprise to define, maintain, document, build and test innovative solutions to serve the end goal of contributing to a great patient care experience.
  • Work collaboratively with the development team and advise on feature enhancement advances to better service the community. 
  • Platforms supported include: 
o Information Services (IS) and non-IS Service Management platform (ServiceNow)
o Monitor and logging of core IT infrastructure (ScienceLogic)
o Escalation and notification platform (xMatters)
Minimum - Bachelor’s Degree. Four years of relevant experience in an IT infrastructure environment may be considered in lieu of a degree and in addition to the work experience listed below.
Preferred - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Healthcare, Information Technology, Business, or related field strongly preferred.

Work Experience:
Minimum - Three years relevant experience working in technical support services or an Information Technology environment
Preferred - Five years of experience in a Healthcare setting and experience in one or more of the following:
  • Platforms such as: ServiceNow; ScienceLogic; Log Insight; and xMatters 
  • Understanding of IT Operations and Service Management best practice and the ITIL Framework.
  • Experience with Agile software development methodology.

Licenses and Certifications:
Preferred – ServiceNow Admin; PMP, PMI-ACP, ITIL, Cisco Certifications, MCSA, CCA or VCP certification

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
  • Ability to resolve critical issues in a time sensitive manner, cognizant of requisite service levels
  • ability to establish trust and confidence in UW Health Information Services with the knowledge of and concern for customers’ business needs. 
  • History of balancing multiple priorities simultaneously with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the of customers while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. 

Work Schedule:
This position is 100% FTE, 40 hours per week.  Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm.  On-call rotation is required.  Hours may vary based on the needs of the department.
