We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to:

  • Perform maintenance and repair work within the University Hospital, American Family Children Hospital and associated remote clinics and buildings, such as maintaining heating and air conditioning equipment, emergency power scoyystems, medical gas distribution and supply systems, food service equipment, and hospital life support systems for direct and indirect patient use.
  • Perform diagnosis, and repair equipment in emergency situations, monitor and make adjustments to the building(s) environment and lighting using a computerized building automation system and monitor and make adjustments to computerized, intelligent fire alarm systems.




Minimum - High School Diploma or GED

Preferred - Two year Technical diploma

Work Experience:

Minimum - Two years of maintenance experience or formal training.

Preferred - Two years of maintenance experience or formal training, in a healthcare setting.


Licenses & Certifications: 

Minimum - Valid Driver’s License


Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

·    Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and drawings.

·    Familiarity with the operation of maintenance related tools and equipment.

·    Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications. Possession of good customer service skills.

Physical Requirements

Heavy: Ability to lift up to 100 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds.


Work Schedule

100% FTE, 40 hours per week. Two - 12 hour shifts on Thursday and Friday from 6:30 am - 6:45 pm. One - 8 hour shift on Saturday from 10:30 am - 7:00 pm and one 8 hour shift on Sunday from 6:30 am - 3:00 pm. Working holidays are required if it falls on normal working schedule.
