As an Advanced Practice Provider, you'll play an integral role in our inpatient and outpatient care teams by providing high-quality, cost-effective care to patients.

We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to:
  • Provide comprehensive care to both well and ill adult patients in inpatient, outpatient, and procedural settings at University Hospital and UnityPoint Health - Meriter.
  • First assist with pacemaker device placements, generator replacements, ablation procedures, lead extractions, and lead revisions. Independently perform cardioversions, loop recorder implantations, and loop extractions. 
  • Prep patients, perform pre-diagnostic history and physicals and provide discharge orders and instructions.
Minimum –
If Nurse Practitioner:
Master’s or Doctorate’s degree from accredited Nursing Program.

If Physician Assistant:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from accredited PA Program.

Licenses and Certifications:
Minimum -
If Nurse Practitioner: Active RN and APNP license in State of Wisconsin AND active board certification as a NP in Adult; Adult/Gerontology Acute Care; or Adult/Gerontology Primary Care, Emergency; or Family; and RN Surgical First Assist Certification.
If Physician Assistant: Active PA license in State of Wisconsin AND active PA board certification.
All Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant applicants must have: Active DEA license or ability to apply for such license prior to or upon hire AND CPR certification and advanced life support certifications if relevant to practice area (ACLS).

Physical Requirements:
Medium: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting/and or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds and ability to wear a 10-pound lead garment for prolonged periods.

Work Schedule:
100% FTE, Monday to Friday, four days per week, 10-hour shifts.  No weekends, holidays, or on-call.  Hours may vary based on the needs of the department.
