NP/PA - Inpatient Cardiology ICU

As an Advanced Practice Provider, you'll play an integral role in our care teams by providing high-quality, cost-effective care to patients.

We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to:
  • Work in our seven bed cardiac ICU that provides intensive care for patients with serious cardiac illnesses.
  • Be an active member of inpatient teams by participating in daily rounds and collaborating with other professionals to formulate plans of care.
  • Participate in discharge/transfer planning, including preparation of orders and summaries of patients’ hospitalization and care.
  • Support other inpatient cardiology services to provide additional medical coverage during times of clinics, conferences, and vacations.
Minimum –
If Nurse Practitioner:
Master’s or Doctorate’s degree from accredited Nursing Program.

If Physician Assistant:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from accredited PA Program.

Work Experience:
Minimum - ICU, cardiology, or emergency level nursing or other experiences for at least 1 year.
Preferred – Critical care or emergency care experiences for 3 to 5 years.

Licenses and Certifications:
Minimum -
If Nurse Practitioner: Active RN and APNP license in State of Wisconsin AND active board certification as a NP in Adult/Gerontology Acute Care.
If Physician Assistant: Active PA license in State of Wisconsin AND active PA board certification.
All Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant applicants must have: Active DEA license or ability to apply for such license prior to or upon hire AND CPR certification and advanced life support certifications if relevant to practice area (ACLS, PALS, NRP).

  • Ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to prioritize tasks 
Physical Requirements:
Medium: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting/and or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

Work Schedule:
100% FTE, Monday-Friday. Three 12 hour days, 6:00 am to 6:00 pm, including weekend rotation for every 3rd Saturday, May include holidays. No call.
