As an Advanced Practice Provider, you'll play an integral role in our inpatient and ambulatory care teams by providing high-quality, cost-effective care to patients.

We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant:

  • Provide care to pediatric plastic surgery patients in an inpatient (30%) and outpatient (70%) setting.  
  • American Family Children's Hospital specialists in pediatric plastic and reconstructive surgery provide a variety of services for children. We care for the entire spectrum of congenital (present at birth) and acquired deformities in infants, children and adolescents.
  • Perform routine clinical procedures independently as outlined in practice agreements/scope of practice including, but not limited to, the following: drain removal, minor office procedures, VAC changes, and complex wound care.

Minimum –

If Nurse Practitioner:

Master’s or Doctorate’s degree from accredited Nursing Program.


If Physician Assistant:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from accredited PA Program.


Work Experience:

Preferred - Two (2) years of relevant clinical experience.

Licenses and Certifications:
Minimum -

If Nurse Practitioner: Active RN and APNP license in State of Wisconsin AND active board certification as a NP in Family, Pediatric Acute Care, or Pediatric Primary Care.

If Physician Assistant: Active PA license in State of Wisconsin AND active PA board certification.

All Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant applicants must have: Active DEA license or ability to apply for such license prior to or upon hire AND CPR certification and advanced life support certifications if relevant to practice area (ACLS, PALS, NRP).

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional demeanor.
  • Ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to prioritize task.
Physical Requirements:

Medium: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting/and or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

Work Schedule:

100% FTE, Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
