We are seeking an Operations Process Analyst (OPA) for Patient Access in Revenue Cycle to:

  • Identify and implement workflow optimizations and efficiencies using process improvement and project management techniques related to Patient Access operations.
  • Develop and support productivity metrics and Quality Assurance monitoring to identify training needs for new and established staff.  




Minimum - Bachelor’s degree in business, information systems, education or related field. Four (4) years of experience in Revenue Cycle functions may be considered in lieu of the degree in addition to the experience below.

Work Experience:

Minimum - Three years of experience in health care business/revenue cycle environment or applicable departmental experience.

Preferred - 1-2 years of experience in front-end revenue cycle functions at UWHC.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously and complete projects on time with minimal supervision required.
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical and/or complex concepts or topics.
  • Ability to acquire and assimilate new knowledge and skills quickly and autonomously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Consultative approach to working with users in assessing needs and requirements.
  • Strong organization skills.
  • Strong Analytical skills.
  • Must be detail oriented and accurate.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to problem solve.
  • Proficiency in PC software.
  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, and third-party payer regulations and guidelines preferred.
  • Understanding of front-end health care revenue cycle functions (i.e. Registration, Admissions, Precertification, Insurance verification, Financial Counseling etc.) preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Sedentary: Ability to lift up to 10 pounds maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as dockets, ledgers and small tools.  Although a sedentary job is defined as one, which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and other sedentary criteria are met.


Work Schedule:

100% FTE, 40 hours per week. 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.
