We are seeking a Registered Nurse to:
  • Coordinate referrals and new patient appointments within the Carbone Cancer Center through using expertise with oncology diagnoses, interpreting test/imaging results and prioritizing symptoms.
  • Assist patients and providers in navigating the many services UW Health offers to achieve optimal experiences for new oncology patients.

Education:

Minimum – Graduate of school of nursing

Preferred – Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

 

Work Experience:

Minimum – One (1) year of RN experience

Preferred – Relevant RN experience

 

Licenses and Certifications:

Minimum – Registered as a registered nurse in the state where employed or licensure in a state in the licensure compact; CPR/BLS certification

Preferred – Applicable clinical certification

 

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge and experience documenting patient care in an electronic medical record.

  • Excellent verbal ,written, and presentation skills

  • Ability to make knowledgeable clinical assessments and judgments

  • Ability to educate staff

  • Ability to provide counseling and emotional support with compassion and respect for the individual

  • Ability to provide support to the members of the care team (teamwork)

  • Must possess initiative and ability to work independently

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of medical records

Physical Requirements:

Heavy: Ability to lift up to 100 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

 

Work Schedule:

  • 90% FTE, 36 hours per week

  • Day, Monday through Friday

  • No weekends or holidays

  • Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department
