We are seeking a RN - Nurse Manager of Emergency Department to:

  • Direct the planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care programs for the Emergency Department and work with associated facilities and the pre-hospital health care system.
  • Collaborate with medical faculty and other nursing managers on all issues related to the management of patient care.

Education:
Minimum - BS in Nursing
Preferred - MS in Nursing


Work Experience:
Minimum - Three (3) years ED, critical care or relevant nursing experience. Three (3) years progressive nursing leadership experience with demonstrated success
Preferred - Previous management experience in an academic medical center in Emergency Department.


Licenses and Certifications:
Minimum - RN licensed in the State of Wisconsin. BLS and ACLS certifications

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Managerial skills necessary to plan, organize, and direct operational activities.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills necessary to interact with all levels.
  • Must be comfortable with an interdisciplinary culture of collaboration.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
Light: Ability to lift up to 20 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds.

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday, hours ranging from 7:00 am – 5:00 pm, with some early morning or early evening meetings scheduled periodically. On call required one weekend per month. Additional hours as needed in this 24/7 department to meet operational needs.
