RN - Nurse Manager - General Internal Medicine - 100% FTE, Day

Minimum – MS in relevant area with BS in Nursing.  

Preferred – MSN

Work Experience:

Minimum – At least five years relevant clinical experience.  Progressive nursing management experience with demonstrated success.

Preferred – Previous management experience in an academic medical center.


Licenses and Certifications:

Minimum – RN licensed in the State of Wisconsin. Basic Life Support Certified. ACLS Certified within one year of hire.


Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Managerial skills necessary to plan, organize, direct, and the operational activities.
  • Enjoy working in an interdisciplinary culture of collaboration.

  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills necessary to interact with all levels.
  • Strong political and negotiation skills that are conceptual as well as practical.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements:

Light: Ability to lift up to 10 pounds maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as dockets, ledgers and small tools.  Although a sedentary job is defined as one, which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and other sedentary criteria are met.


Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday, hours ranging from 7:00 am – 5:00 pm, with some early morning or early evening meetings scheduled periodically. Additional hours as needed in this 24/7 department to meet operational needs.
