Play a critical role in patient care, especially in the Operating Room.

We are seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to:

  • Work in a challenging, fast-paced environment requiring a high level of technical skill
  • No experience necessary; you will be provided extensive training at a pace comfortable for you
  • Interact with cutting edge surgical instrumentation and reprocessing equipment in a large Academic Medical Center, Level I Trauma Center, and Organ Transplant Center
  • Be a member of a cohesive team assisting and supporting each other
  • Work in a variety of locations such as University Hospital, American Family Children’s Hospital, and the Digestive Health Center




Minimum – High School Diploma or equivalent

Work Experience:

Minimum – No minimum required work experience

Licenses and Certifications:

Preferred – Certification by CBSPD as a Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician or IAHCSMM as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician is preferred


Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented and self-motivated to complete duties in a timely manner
  • Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently
  • Basic mechanical ability and mathematical skills
  • Knowledge of and ability to follow safety principles

Physical Requirements:

Heavy: Ability to lift up to 100 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Work Schedule:

100% FTE, 40 hours per week. 1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts are available. Weekend and holiday rotation is required. If selected for an interview, shift preferences and availability will be discussed at that time. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.
