We are seeking a Culinary Services Supervisor to:

  • Supervise approximately 50-60 staff to ensure overall operation of Patient Meal Services which includes – Culinary Call Center, Meal Delivery and Sanitation. Average of 1200 meals are served in a day.
  • Complete daily assignment sheet and adjusts staffing as needed to accommodate employee shortages and operational needs.
  • Following up with concerns and suggestions brought by patient and family members, internal staff and other departments.
  • Provide training to staff and lead improvement projects to increase department efficiency and achieve department goals.
  • Evaluate employees’ performance, provide feedback and guidance, offer support to make staff successful in the role.
  • Gather various reports (Tray Timeliness, Individual Tray Delivery records, Average call wait, Agent performance etc) and present to the team with overall update.  

Education:

Minimum - Associates Degree in Culinary Arts, related field or equivalent experience.

Preferred - Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis on Food Service, Nutrition, Dietetics or Business related. Two (2) years leadership/supervising experience.


Work Experience:

Minimum - Three years of experience leading or supervising in a multifaceted food service operation which would include some aspects of food production, patient dining, and catering and/or retail food service.

Preferred - Five years of experience supervising or managing multifaceted hospital food service operations which would include some aspects of food production, patient dining, catering and/or retail food service.


Licenses and Certifications:

Minimum - Serv Safe Certified Food Manager Certification must be complete within 6 months of start date.

Preferred - RDN - Registered Dietitian Nutritionist or eligible for registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association; CD – Certified Dietician, Certification as required by state of Wisconsin.


Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Driver’s License and ability to drive fleet vehicle.
  • Thorough knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and good hospitality procedures in quantity food service. 
  • Ability to organize, assign, and supervise the work of food service employees.  Ability to train and direct employees. 
  • Thorough knowledge of the equipment and supplies utilized in the food service operation. 
  • Considerable knowledge of customer relations, including:  handling customer problems, answering customer questions, maintaining customer satisfaction, and meeting customer needs. 
  • Excellent verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to oversee and direct several different areas of an operation simultaneously. 
  • Ability to perform simple math calculations
  • Ability to operate within budgetary guidelines.

Physical Requirements:

Heavy: Ability to lift up to 100 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds.


Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position with shifts scheduled Tuesday through Saturday between the hours of 12:30 pm to 9:00 pm. Hours may vary based on the needs of the department.
