UW Health in northern Illinois is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA-C) to join our cardiology team, focusing on Electrophysiology (EP). You will collaborate closely with our two EP physicians, providing both inpatient and outpatient care.
This position offers a unique opportunity to work with patients with a variety of implanted devices, including Watchman, pacemakers and ICDs (implantable cardioverter-defibrillators), providing care post-operation in the hospital and clinic settings.
We are looking for a dedicated candidate to provide our patients with high-quality care in a team-centered environment. The Advanced Practice Provider will be supported by our group of 14 cardiology providers as we continue to grow through new service lines and state-of-the-art procedures.
Your clinical support includes the following:
- Schedule: Four 10s (four 10-hour days each week)
- Strong EP-dedicated support staff
- Generous stipend for weekend and holiday rounding
- Comprehensive collaboration with supervising physician to provide inpatient and outpatient care in a clinic setting to facilitate the smooth administration of an independent electrophysiology service line.
- Complete evaluation, differential diagnosis, treatment plans and medication management.
- Management of the inpatient service, including help with pre-procedural H&P, new consults, progress notes, daily rounding with each physician and postoperative exams/discharges, as well as providing patient education about cardiac conditions.
- Daily participation in clinic and help with physician EMR inbox responsibilities.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement activities and educational experiences in support of departmental philosophy and objectives, as well as health system initiatives.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree from an accredited PA program or completion of a master’s level advanced practice nurse program.
- Active APRN or PA license from the State of Illinois and an active DEA license, or the ability to apply for such license prior to or upon hire.
