UW Health consists of seven hospitals and more than 80 clinic locations centered around Madison, Wis., and Rockford, Ill. A leading regional referral center located on the west end of the UW-Madison campus, this 505-bed Magnet-designated facility is known as one of the nation’s leading hospitals for patient care and teaching.

Next to University Hospital sits American Family Children’s Hospital, a comprehensive, modern, 111-bed pediatric medical and surgical center with nationally recognized specialists in several fields. Home to a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center, a nationally ranked pediatric heart program, a Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and a renowned childhood cancer program, American Family Children’s Hospital offers state-of-the-art care in a warm, family-friendly environment.

UW Health East Madison Hospital is our newest hospital, where we care for patients who schedule a planned orthopedic and endocrine surgical procedure, including thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal operations. The 56-bed East Madison Hospital is also home to an emergency department and an extensive array of wellness, fitness and Sports Performance programs.

With a century-old legacy in the Rockford community, SwedishAmerican joined the UW Health family in 2015. Here, we offer patients from the Greater Rockford area and north central Illinois convenient access to remarkable medical care. Across northern Illinois, UW Health SwedishAmerican includes two hospitals and 30 primary care and multi-specialty clinic locations.
