Advanced Practice Provider: Allergy

UW Health in northern Illinois is currently seeking an APP (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to grow our allergy, asthma and immunology team in Rockford, Ill. The ideal candidate is self-motivated with strong critical thinking skills and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with patients of all ages.

Your clinical support includes the following:

  • Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for patients with allergic, asthmatic and immunologic conditions
  • Prescribing medications and therapies as appropriate, monitoring patient progress and adjusting treatments as necessary
  • Educating patients and their families on managing their diagnosis, preventive measures and lifestyle modifications
  • Performing skin tests and other relevant diagnostic procedures, and administering allergy shots
  • Collaborating with referring physicians, nurses and other health care professionals to provide integrated care for patients
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation
  • Remaining current with advancements in allergy, asthma and immunology treatments and best practices

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree from accredited PA program or completion of a master’s level advanced practice nurse program 
  • Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in Illinois, or ability to apply upon program completion
  • Strong clinical, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
