Advanced Practice Provider: Neonatal Nurse Practitioner

UW Health Northern Illinois seeks an experienced neonatal nurse practitioner (NNP) to join our 32-bed Level III NICU team in the Women and Children’s Hospital in Rockford, Ill.

Our Level III NICU is staffed 24/7 by a neonatologist and neonatal nurse practitioner, who are part of a multidisciplinary team of caregivers providing excellent and cost-effective care to our smallest patients.

In this autonomous position, you will enjoy a collaborative practice that includes rounding to discuss and establish plan of care, performance of invasive procedures within the NNP scope of practice, attendance at high-risk deliveries, transport and opportunities to participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff education. 

Your clinical support includes the following:

  • Team of six neonatologists and six NNPs.
  • More than a dozen pediatric subspecialists from UW Health are located in this beautiful facility and are available for consultation and collaboration.
  • MFM collaboration and 24-hour, in-house OB hospitalist

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree from accredited PA program or completion of a master’s level advanced practice nurse program
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in a Level III NICU
  • Active PA license in the State of Illinois and an active DEA license, or the ability to apply for such license prior to or upon hire
