American Family Children’s Hospital
Offering the latest advances in pediatric medicine
American Family Children’s Hospital offers most advanced neonatal and pediatric medical care directed by University of Wisconsin pediatricians and pediatric surgeons — all in a state-of-the-art, family-friendly facility with cozy amenities.
Our Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is one of just two in Wisconsin, and our expansion will allow for more families to receive this level of care. We are also expanding our Level I Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and adding a Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU), keeping UW Health Kids at the forefront of pediatric cardiac care.

East Madison Hospital is a state-of-the-art hospital, health and wellness facility and sports performance center, all under one roof. Here, health care is seen as a holistic endeavor where our mission is to not only diagnose and treat patients when they’re sick, but also to partner with them in health and wellness.
The expansion at East Madison Hospital includes adding new surgical procedures, expanding perioperative services and inpatient, as well and planned expansion of the emergency department.

University Hospital in Madison is a Magnet-designated facility that’s been consistently ranked the No. 1 hospital in Wisconsin. It is considered one of the nation’s leading hospitals, teaching institutions and referral centers. This is where you can gain the kind of firsthand experiences that occur at a world-class academic medical center.
New units at University Hospital will allow us the flexibility to create additional space to care for more patients more efficiently. University Hospital is a Level I Trauma Center, and this expansion will enhance our emergency department’s capacity and capabilities, as well as increase the overall number of inpatient beds, expand ICU capacity and increase space for pre- and post-procedures.
