Faces of the Pandemic
“I left the ICU a few years ago. Then the fall of 2020 came and Wisconsin was hit hard by COVID-19. I volunteered immediately to help in the Trauma and Life Support Center (TLC)—there was never a doubt in my mind. Because nursing is more than just a job, it’s a passion and TLC is more than just an ICU, it’s a family. This pandemic has forever changed healthcare, but one thing it will never change is the most basic and important job of caring for people. We as nurses will always do this. No matter how we must do it, behind masks or not, we will give part of ourselves for you and your loved ones. Always.” -Sarah Lundquist, BSN, RN
