Haley and Ben found a home at UW Health — and in the Madison area

When Haley and Ben Thomson (left) took assignments in the Pediatric ICU (PICU) and Emergency Department at UW Health in Madison, Wis., they found a place they could finally call home.

The nurses in the PICU made Haley feel like one of their own, and the providers trusted her to care for some of the sickest pediatric patients. Ben felt like he could truly grow in his career in the Emergency Department, working in a Level I Trauma Center alongside world-renowned providers with safe nurse-to-patient ratios and motivated staff members who were always willing to help.

It wasn’t just the work they loved; they fell for the charm of living in the Madison area, where people are always out walking, biking or on the water and there’s always something fun to do — like cheering from the stands at sporting events.
