The Medical Assistant (MA) Apprenticeship Program is a training program designed for current UW Health employees, as well as external applicants. Employees and external applicants receive training to become a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant on paid work time. Medical Assistants are Allied Health Professionals trained in ambulatory administrative, clinical and laboratory functions.

Applying to the Program
There are two avenues to apply to the program:
Apply as a Current Employee
If you are accepted into the program as an employee:
- There is no cost for the program. You are paid 40 hours a week while in the training program. There is a three-year work agreement.
