- Major project will be presented at the Great Lakes Pharmacy Resident Conference. Residents may also present at the Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin Educational Conference.
- It may also be presented at the Infectious Diseases Society of America Annual Meeting or the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists or other clinical meeting
- Past resident projects include:
- National, multicenter study on the effectiveness of the antibiotic timeout
- Development of pediatric stewardship program
- Development of antimicrobial stewardship outreach program
- Evaluation of PK/PD dosing
- Rotation-related projects as assigned by rotation preceptors

- Trauma conference (trauma surgeons and residents)
- Leadership of journal club discussions
- Grand Rounds Interactive Lunch and Learn (GRILL) for co-residents (all residents meet once weekly, PGY2 will present one time per year)
Teaching Opportunities
- Clinical instructor status at the University of Wisconsin School of Pharmacy
- Teaching assistant for third-year Infectious Diseases Pharmacotherapy at School of Pharmacy
- Co-Preceptorship of fourth-year students and first-year pharmacy practice residents on elective clinical rotation at the hospital
- Teaching certificate program for residents through the School of Pharmacy
Other Activities
- Assist in the development of institutional guidelines and protocols
- Serve as a member of institution committees related to infectious diseases
- Attend Infectious Disease grand rounds, fellows conference and journal clubs
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support training and institutional Code Blue training
- Infectious diseases bootcamp
- Opportunity to interact with 25 or more co-residents daily
Travel
- Support to attend the either the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists or the ID meeting of the resident’s choosing
- Great Lakes Pharmacy Resident Conference or the Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin Educational Conference
- Spring visit to other health systems and residency programs
