The resident in the UW Health PGY2 Oncology Pharmacy Residency will participate as a member of the hematology/oncology team at UW Health and the UW Carbone Cancer Center.
The UW Carbone Cancer Center is the only National Cancer Institute designated comprehensive cancer center in Wisconsin. In our ASHP accredited PGY2 Oncology pharmacy residency program, the resident will:
- Practice in both inpatient and ambulatory settings
- Participate in academic and preceptor programs through the UW School of Pharmacy
- Complete a longitudinal project suitable for publication
- Experience rotations tailored to the resident’s interests and needs while also meeting ASHP standards
Practice settings at UW Health and Carbone Cancer Center with rotation and staffing experiences include:
- 39-bed inpatient adult BMT/hematology/oncology unit
- Inpatient pediatric BMT/hematology/oncology unit
- Multiple ambulatory clinics including gastrointestinal, genitourinary, gynecology-oncology, multiple myeloma, breast and lung cancers
- Chemotherapy infusion center
- Academia and research experience
