Residents receive a stipend of $52,200 per year. Additionally, each year residents receive the following benefits:
- 144 hours of paid time off (PTO), inclusive of vacation, holidays and sick time, during each year of the residency program. PTO must be utilized for all UW Health recognized holidays the resident is not assigned to staff. Typically, residents are assigned to staff either New Year’s, Thanksgiving or Christmas and Memorial Day, Independence Day or Labor Day.
- Funding for professional meetings
Residents are not required to use vacation time to attend meetings. As employees of UW Health and the School of Pharmacy, residents receive full health, vision and dental insurance benefits and full access to the University of Wisconsin’s recreational, educational and cultural facilities.
