The School of Radiography is a hospital-based radiography program sponsored by UW Health SwedishAmerican Hospital in Rockford, IL. This is a certificate program.
Our school holds a formal affiliation agreement with the University of St. Francis in Joliet, IL This curricular track is in a 2+2 format, meaning a student will take 2 years of prerequisites (USF and UW Health requirements) and then 2 years of radiography courses at UW Health SwedishAmerican Hospital in Rockford. Upon completion of the 2 years at the School of Radiography a student will be eligible for the ARRT certification in Radiography and will also earn a baccalaureate degree from the University of St. Francis. The program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). In 2018, we were awarded the maximum eight-year accreditation.

We will be accepting applications from June 1 to March 15, 2023, for the class that will begin in the fall of 2023. This 21-month program seeks to prepare individuals to become competent, entry-level radiographers. From 2017-2021, our program has an average completion rate of 100%, a 100% job placement rate and 100% of graduates passed their registry exam on their first attempt.
Graduates of the program are eligible for certification in radiography through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
