1) Resume

• List all clinical courses you will have completed by May 2026. 

2) Essay

• Share a recent experience from nursing clinicals that has affirmed your desire to pursue a career in nursing.
• Share an example of a personal accomplishment that aligns with UW Health’s vision for delivering remarkable health care.
• What is one professional and one personal goal that you want to achieve if selected for the Nurse Extern Program?

3) Supplemental Application

Please complete prior to initiating the online application

4) Online Application

• Applications are accepted from November 1, 2025 through January 6, 2026.
• Visit the UW Health Careers page and search “Nurse Extern.”
• Register, if you have not already created an account.
• If possible, combine resume, essay and supplemental application into one (1) PDF document.  It is acceptable to attach the documents separately, if necessary.
• Current employees must apply internally via Oracle Cloud. Home access is available at https://homeaccess.uwhealth.org/
